Sunset ~ Macarthur "MacDaddy" Walton

Fam, we've lost another dear friend, MacDaddy. I first ran across MacDaddy's blog when he posted an insightful poem, I've been an admirer ever since. Ever the gentleman, he welcomed readers with material that spanned genres and generations. MacDaddy's blog was a place to learn about poetry, Black history, current events, triumphs and life lessons. Take some time to read some of MacDaddy's posts, you'll see how he promoted knowledge, mutual understanding and the good in others.

Words cannot express how much he will be missed. Knowing MacDaddy, he'd say not to mourn him but live life to the fullest and leave a lasting legacy.

~*~ Until we meet again, MacDaddy, eternal loving peace. ~*~

Bereavement in their death to feel
Whom We have never seen—
A Vital Kinsmanship import
Our Soul and theirs—between—

For Stranger—Strangers do not mourn—
There be Immortal friends
Whom Death see first—'tis news of this
That paralyze Ourselves—

Who, vital only to Our Thought—
Such Presence bear away
In dying—'tis as if Our Souls
Absconded—suddenly—

~ Emily Dickinson
