Those were the days...

10 things I miss about summer growing up in the sensational 70s... when life was easy...

~ cherry now laters (not now & laters), lemonheads and chico sticks

~ jellybean shoes that made your feet sweat

~ running home when the street lights came on...late? you'd better hope mama didn't notice...she didn't play that...

~ fireworks, rollerskates and Big Wheels

~ running to the ice cream truck with a dollar and coming back with a handful of goodies...and change...

~ the original Quiet Storm radio show...when they used to play an entire album and lyrics actually had meaning

~ 45s & 8 track tapes...oh, yeah...a little Teddy P., Parliament, Gap Band, Lakeside and the Village People!

~ windbreakers....I used to sport a canary yellow one hard

~ playing kickball, dodgeball, tag and red light, green light

~ last but not least...what the hell happened to fireflies...??? I smell a conspiracy...

I'm getting a little misty reminiscing...

What are youe fave memories...?

3 points of view:

  1. Ya can't even buy the cheapest ice cream on the truck for a dollar anymore. :( And that makes me sad. I always got those things that had the bubble gum at the bottom. Forgot what they are called. What was your fave?

  2. I know, it's downright depressing. Dang, I know which one you're talking about but I can't remember the name either. I used to jones for the Push Up thingys. Orange sherbet with a pic of Freddie Flintstone on the wrapper...yum :).
